COMPLETE BASIC EMDR THERAPIST TRAINING
EMDRIA APPROVED EMDR THERAPIST TRAINING
Pathways Counseling offers EMDRIA approved EMDR Therapist Training. This training is designed for providers who desire to learn and incorporate EMDR into their psychotherapy practice. Pathways Counseling has partnered with Advanced Education Institute, to present this program developed by DaLene Forester PhD, LMFT, LPCC.
ABOUT THE TRAINING
Training consists of 2 3-day trainings, plus 10 hours of consultation, all of which is included in the training cost. Times are typically 8:30 to 5:00, on 3-consecutive days. There are 10 hours of consultation between the two trainings, performed remotely via Zoom.com done in 5 2-hour sessions. Participants must attend all training days in full, and all 10 hours of consultation, to receive the EMDR Basic Training Certificate (no partial credit is provided). EMDRIA REQUIRES EMDR BASIC TRAINING BE COMPETED WITHIN 12 MONTHS.
REQUIRED READINGS: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols, and Procedures, Third Edition, by Francine Shapiro, PhD (2017). The book is not included in course materials and tuition.

A Participation Agreement must be signed and submitted prior to the start of training.
This is the complete EMDR Basic Training approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and includes the required 10 hours of case consultation. Participants will learn this comprehensive psychotherapeutic approach, the eight-phase EMDR protocol, the Adaptive Information Processing Model, and how to incorporate EMDR Therapy into your clinical practice. This course consists of didactic learning, video presentations, live demonstrations, supervised practicum, and case consultations.
All trainees will be asked to participate in practicum exercises as part of the training. You are encouraged to work on personal issues appropriate for the training environment. There will be demonstrations throughout the 6 training days, and you are encouraged to consider being a volunteer. All participants are paired to practice the newly learned material. This is done in a safe and supportive environment where confidentiality is maintained.

TIME FRAME REQUIREMENTS
EMDRIA requires participants complete EMDR Basic Training within 24 months of their initial start date (start of the first weekend), inclusive of the two 3-day trainings and the 10 consultation hours. If you take the trainings as designed and scheduled with Pathways Counseling, you will complete the EMDR Basic Training within 3-4 months, and be "EMDR Trained."
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR TRAINING?
LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Qualifying Medical Doctors must be licensed to practice in their state or province.

Qualifying Advanced Practice Registered Nurses must have a Master of Science in Nursing (or higher) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health nursing and must be licensed to practice through their state board or province.

Qualifying Mental Health Clinicians must hav a Master's Degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and be licensed to practice through their state board or province.
PRE-LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

These are clinicians who are actively pursuing a mental health license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor. Some of these license types may include: associate, intern, limited, provisional, temporary and pre-license.

Qualifying Pre-Licensed Mental Health Clinicians must have a Master's Degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and must be actively pursuing a full license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor.
GRADUATE STUDENTS

Qualifying graduate students must be enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work) or related mental health discipline. Students must have completed their core graduate academic coursework and must be in the practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. First year graduate students are not eligible. Graduate students must be on a licensing track and working under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health clinician.

Graduate students who would like to take an EMDR Training will need to submit certain documentation (graduate transcript, practicum or internship details, and a letter from their supervisor which includes the supervisor's license information and number) in order to verify their eligibility. Students do not need to provide EMDRIA with any documentation unless specifically asked to do so by EMDRIA staff. All documentation that needs to be submitted goes directly to the training provider either prior to or during the training registration process.
DOCUMENTATION TO ATTEND EMDR BASIC TRAINING

Documentation that shows your standing as a mental health professional, have a master’s degree (or doctorate) in a mental health related field (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, etc.) and are licensed to practice as a mental health professional by your state board. (Copy of degree and license)

If you have a graduate degree in the mental health field but are not yet licensed to practice, please document that you are working towards state licensure and under a licensed supervisor. (A copy of your intern license and letter from your supervisor is sufficient.)

If you are currently enrolled in a graduate program, please submit transcripts (unofficial) that show you have completed your core coursework and a letter from your licensed supervisor in the internship/practicum setting.

Information may be forwarded to Pathways Counseling. Please verify there is room in the class you desire to attend. Class size is limited to 10.
POLICY FOR MAKING UP A CONSULTATION GROUP

The charge for making up a group after the second weekend has been completed is $75.00 per group hour or $150 per individual hour.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A $100 service charge applies to each returned check.

Full Refund up to 30 days prior to training, minus bank fees ($250).

Partial refund up to 6 days prior to training (minus $400).

No refund 5 days or less prior to training. The participant will have up to 1 year from the date of the beginning of their original training to make up the training. After that time, the individual is responsible for paying another training in full.

No partial credit is provided for this program. If you are unable to attend the training in its entirety you will be required to make up the material at a future training or via 1:1 instruction with Susan Reed MSSW LCSW at your own expense per hour (Current fee $150 per instructional hour). You will have up to 120 days to make up the time list or you will be required to begin the training again at your own expense.

Temperatures in meeting rooms vary, so please dress in layers.
Susan is a Certified EMDR practitioner and EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer who specializes in adults (first responders, military, civilians) with complex trauma, anxiety disorders (including panic disorders, specific phobias, OCD). Susan works with trauma, anxiety, dissociative symptoms, addictions, pain reduction, and incorporates spirituality in her work.
